More-potent engines arrived, a Z26 with new Quad 4 engine replaced the GT/GTZ, and a 4-speed electronic automatic transmission joined the 3-speed. The new 2.2-liter 4-cylinder engine made 120 horsepower (up from 110), and the available V6 gained 20 horsepower (now rated at 160). The dual-overhead-cam 2.3-liter Quad 4 engine, installed in the Z26 coupe, developed 170 horsepower. The new electronic 4-speed automatic was the sole transmission choice for Berettas with V6 power. Door-mounted front shoulder belts replaced the former manual seatbelts.

DON'T BUY IT!!!!
Paint chips easily. Nothing is easy to get for this car. Everything has to be ordered and isn't very cheap. Looks decent, but who cares when your broke from fixing everything. I'm lucky the car didn't fall apart driving it. Guys like it if your interested in that, but then again they don't have to dish out the cash to fix it weekly. Make sure you have a very good membership with AAA if you buy this car. They new me by my first name. I wouldn't have given this car to my worst enemy. Well, maybe to them. I bought this car when it was 2 years old. Ran good for a year then I had to get a second job to keep up with it. I was to "upside down" to trade it in and besides not even dealers wanted this piece of ****. Useless to some it up. Unless you live a mile from where you work I would highly not recomend buying.
