This is my first digital and I'm very happy with it's ease of use, photo quality, battery life, and learning curve. For the most part, I taught myself to use the camera without the manual, while on a flight to the west coast. I took several shots while using the tinting options and were amazed at the results. It only takes the batteries about four hours to go from dead to fully charged and I've never been able to get below half charged no matter how much it's used in one day. One short coming is the lack of sound while in video mode, but if it's video you want, buy a video recorder... Good luck
