Cartier Tank Francaise W51008Q3 Women Watch
I agree with the first reviewer - this watch is a hassle and expensive to maintain. I bought mine from the store in Beverly Hills and at no time did the sales person ever disclose the need for periodic maintenance to the tune of $400. It's recommended every 3-5 years so in the scheme of things it might not seem much, but: 1) Since my watch stopped working completely after year 4, it seems to me that this is not an option but a requirement for the watch to continue working; 2) as such, this really should be mentioned by the salesperson pre-purchase. Not only in the interest of honest disclosure but because if one does not know this, then the watch can (and will) stop working unexpectedly which could spell trouble depending on your lifestyle.
Just as annoying is the fact that I do not live near a Cartier service center and it's not like I can drop everything and take a 2 hour drive and back - so this extends time passed without the working watch. The thing is, I have bought both inexpensive and very expensive watches in the past and I've never had one that stopped working except for battery or winding issues. They were all very hassle-free ownership, so the fact that my tank watch died for lack of maintenance after 4 years is just unbelievable to me, especially for the price. But besides the cost, I'm just unhappy at the prospect of having to think about this and also at the lack of disclosure, but I guess Cartier makes a lot of money on the service side because that department was pretty hopping when I was there.
