Pros: Good coffee, except Danesi
Cons: Bad Frother, No steaming wand
The Bottom Line:
I wouldnt recommend it if you plan to use the frother but for the money it can make decent coffee.
The product quality seemed good. The manual was fairly well written and made sense. We have owned pump espresso machines before and so were acquainted with the basics.
The funky frother attachment worked ok once and I have been unable to make it work again. I cleaned it well (as described in the manual) both before and after and I am unable to make it work again. Plus its clumsy and awkward to use either from the flaggon they give you or direct from a milk carton. Please just give me the steaming wand.
The coffee is good and has a nice crema when it works. We dont grind our own coffee because we are cheap and lazy. We used Lavazza and Danesi pre-ground from a can. The Lavazza worked fine but the Danesi is ground too fine or something so the coffee flows out a drop at a time and it takes forever to get a shot out of the thing. A real downer for the Danesi lover.
We needed a new machine because our Briel went on the fritz and went into the trash. We bought the Capresso EspressoPro because it was a decent price and sold from our local Whole Foods store who wan willing to stand behind it with a 3 month return it if you dont like it policy.
We are looking for another machine to replace it.
