Pros: Small and pleasing to the eye with lots of features
Cons: no memory card, seems fragile, definitely need the extended warranty
This is my first purchase of a smaller DV camcorder. Purchased in 2004 and used approximately 6 hours when all of a sudden the DV cable(firewire) stopped working. After extensive troubleshooting canon suggests sending to the repair center in CA or NJ. Since it is out of warranty they will not cover the cost of repair (once again only used for approximately 6 hours worth of recording)so it is pretty much still new.
I am disappointed with Canon. I have also learned my lesson and will purchase the extended warranty in the future on any camcorder brand. Maybe I'll just stick with the cheaper disposable camcorders... My recommendation is if you want a fragile camera that could stop working at anytime, this ones for you!
