I have been thoroughly impressed with the standard of excellence demonstrated by my Canon PowerShot SD100 Digital Camera . This camera creates high quality images that are crystal clear. I recently went on a vacation and had the pictures printed through shutterfly.com ( a future great review ) and I received images with vibrant colors that have impressed my friends and family with the crispness. It was almost like I was looking at a live picture on paper.

This is a great, high-quality digital camera at a reasonable price. I originally had purchased the camera through amazon.com around ten months ago for $249.99, which is a pretty good price for a 3.2 megapixel camera. The price is around the same at stores still today as this camera is still at higher end of the medium priced digital camera range.

There are numerous items included with the camera which are actually additional purchases with some other name brands. For example, it includes a 16MB SD memory card which to be honest I have only used in emergencies because it only holds around thirty pictures at highest image quality. I bought a 128MB SD memory card through amazon.com which holds a little over 200 images. This is what I would recommend to the typical amateur photographer ( such as myself ) who likes to take a lot of pictures on their vacations or at family gatherings. It is really simple to delete the ones you do not like or do not think came out good. Other things included in your purchase include the battery pack and recharger and the cable necessary to hook up to your computer so you can download your images easily.

The optical zoom is only two times, which is on the low end but for most photographers this will undoubtubly be more than enough. You will be able to focus in enough on your scene to get an extremely nice picture, in my opinion. You have also have the option to record about thirty seconds in video with this camera. To be honest, I have never yet used the video feature as I have a fine video camcorder that I use for those occasions. The camera is really lightweight too, weighing less than six ounces.

It is very easy to use, point and shoot basically. All the basic features of today's digital camera out on the market including cropping to see only what you want on your picture, focusing, brightness clarification, among others are included in this brilliant little camera.

I have had some failures in the past when purchasing other cameras but this one is definitely a big winner in my book. I would certainly not hesitate one iota to recommend this camera to my friends in the future because of its' extraordinary performance, clarity, and high-quality images.
