Excellent camera for home

Pros: Great photos, manual settings, LCD screen, ease of downloading photos
Cons: Too bulky to carry around to take photos on vacation
The Bottom Line:
Good product for around the house use, not to carry around.
I've owned the G5 for about a year now. I've taken over 2,000 photos, mostly of a couple toddlers around the house and outside. I bought this camera after much research and trying out my frontrunners in the stores where I could find them.
I've used it to take sports photos (soccer) as well as portraits of my kids. Have never had a quality problem with the photos regardless of the size I have ordered (I have only gone up to 8" x 10").
The ability to zoom in while viewing the photos is a great feature. It allows you to weed out the "eyes in mid blink" photos by zooming in on faces.
Another feature that I like is the multi-shot function. I've tried this at a soccer game, just following the player that I'm taking the photo of while holding the shutter button down. Out of 12 photos of so taken, you can always find a couple great ones ! !
I have a 512K memory card and always take photos at the largest size and resolution, in case I want a larger print when I see the photos. At these settings, I can take 99 photos before filling up this card.
The only negative that I can think of is the bulkiness of the camera really limits where you can take it for extended periods of time. I've lugged it around a couple of amusement parks, and it's just too big to fit in your pocket, you need to keep it in a stroller or bag. I want it to be so, but I just can't will the camera smaller.
