Go for it and dont think twice
After reading the opinions on epinions on this camcorder, this was the only one in its price range that everyone said was overall great. After two weeks of owning one, I would have to agree. The ergonomics are wonderful, the zoom speed easy to control, the controls are practically placed and easy to work including those pesky on screen menus. Overall, compared to the sonys and JVCs that had either high prices or too many bells and whistles, the Optura is a great camera with practical usability and a great size and shape as well. I got the best price from an on line merchant that coincidentally was connected with a local store near me. I saved on the accessories, shipping and overall cost
