Pros: Compact, Stylish, Ease of Use, Price
Cons: Battery Life, Digital Still Resolution (320x240), SD Card size (8MB)
The Bottom Line:
Size and reasonable video quality make it the perfect companion for any event
I got the Elura 50 to start recording various summer road trips. My first experience was using it on a trip to Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA
The camera is very small and was easy to bring along, even on the rides. I was going to try to tape while the roller-coasting was moving but was informed it was not allowed. In addition the wrap that goes around your hand isn't too secure.
I bought a three hour battery and it was fine for the trip since I wasn't recording the whole time. The battery is almost twice as big though and makes the camera look fat.
It was very easy to connect to a computer via the Firewire cable. I used Microsoft Windows Maker and extracting the video was simple. On reviewing the video, it was very high quality. The image stabilization was great, there weren't any really shaky moments. My only complaint was that the video taken in the dark wasn't that clear.
