The PIXMA iP6600D Photo Printer is a photo-printing powerhouse, with incredible quality and high end convenience. It delivers an amazing resolution of up to 9600 x 2400 dpi1, for detail and clarity that will surpass your expectations. To achieve this, Canon Full-photolitho-graphy Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) uses a next-generation 3,072-nozzle print head that ejects precise, consistent droplets as small as 1 picoliter. It all adds up: more nozzles + smaller droplets = smoother, virtually grain-free images. Plus, we've added high intensity Photo Cyan and Photo Magenta to the conventional 4 inks, to increase the accuracy of color values. The high performance doesn't stop there. The PIXMA iP6600D Photo Printer can produce a beautiful photo lab quality 4x 6 borderless print in approximately 46 seconds2. Plus, its advanced paper handling provides you with several smart printing options. The dual paper path allows you to keep two different paper types always loaded and ready to print.

Canon PIXMA iP6600D
Ok I currently have an HP all in one for basic faxing, printing, scanning but wanted a specific ¡§photo¡¨ printer, so I purchased the Canon Pixma ip660d. (I had originally wanted I think the 4250, but ultimately decided on the 6600d) Well I am a natural procrastinator so I finally last night just hooked it up.
The set up was simple. You have what I would call a big old picture map to walk you thru the process so you don¡¦t even have to open a book. It took me maybe 10 minutes to have it plugged up and the cartridges in. Then the online set up maybe 5-7 minutes more and I was able to print my first picture.
AND WOW! The picture quality is great! I could not believe that in less than 1 min (probably 45 seconds tops) I had a 4x6 photo with quality, that I think, even surpasses Walgreen¡¦s and CVS. The best thing about this printer for me is the fact that you can replace only the ink that is out. Because as crazy as it sounds I KNOW that in those tri-color cartridges there is come of another color left when it says out and it kills me to let that go to waste. Ultimately it has to be cheaper.
Now from my computer monitor to the photo mine did come out a tiny bit darker but I think that has to do more with the settings of my monitor than anything the printer has done. The easy of the EASY PRINT software is great. You have 3 buttons. You pick the picture you want on the first tab, you decide what size and paper on another tab, and then you decide what kind of prints (bordered, borderless etc) on the last tab.
One of the coolest things I think this printer has (which I almost forgot to add and had to come back) is an extra paper tray at the bottom that can hold 4x6 (or a smaller) paper so you do not have to switch any paper out or adjust u just choose the tray the picture is to print from and you have it all loaded up all the time. ITS GREAT!
I was not too impressed with the photo editing software it seems a little basic, now don¡¦t get me wrong I am not by any means a photo shop type program pro, but I have been using both Microsoft picture manager and HP image zone and I dearly love the ease and quality of both of those for my photo editing. Plus I am resistant to change to Canons editing options might be just as good I am just not willing to give it too much of a chance. º
Overall I would say definitely this is the best printer I have seen in a while for quality, price and overall ease of use and I would highly recommend it.
What a SUPER printer!
