The best in the Pixma line up

Canon has been making printers since the dot matrix days. I had always hated their "gravity feed" ink jets vs. the HP front feed models. They take up too much room. I never would have picked up this model had it not been for the Canon rep I spoke to in Comp USA in Brandon, FL. I can't remember his name but he looked like a one-armed Kenny Rogers.
The inks that Canon is using in the PIXMA lineup cover better. They stay where they are sprayed by the jets. Other inks try to bead up on the paper and you lose resolution. The Pixma heads supposedly give more definition than other printers.
The photos I print on the Canon Pixma IP4200 are just as clear as what I get from 35mm Film developers. The accompanying software helps you easily correct the most basic of photo errors like red-eye and cropping.
This model beats the other Pixma models because it takes basic ink instead of separate cartridges for the photo inks. That makes this model cheaper to operate.

I have gone through five printers in the past 2 years trying to ge the best photo quality and this printer will be my last stop.

People who complain about the cost of inks on their reviews of this printer are out of line. This printer gives you the advantage of changing out individual color reservoirs instead of having to replace the multi-color cartridge. At only $14.00 per cartridge at Best Buy I can afford that. It's much better than paying $35 to replace the multicolor HP cartridges.
Make sure to use the Canon paper too. I tried some of my Kodak paper and it just didn't cut it. that's cool too because Canon makes some the least expensive paper and it is always readily available
