The Bottom Line:
The bottom line is this vehicle is missed dearly, and is a great road trip vehicle with ample room and superp comfort. Get a GM warranty!
This vehicle was my sisters 2002 Cadillac Escalade, we often swapped vehicles, and I have put many miles on this vehicle.
It was fully loaded for the 2002 model (which was the first year of the popular new look). It was artic white (not pearl) with 3rd row option, sunroof, 6 cd changer, Onstar, heated leather front seats. Driver Memory 1/Driver Memory 2 with exit assist. ABS, Driver front and passenger airbags, with driver and passenger side airbags. This vehicle also has the sought after 5.3L v8, which is far superior than the 6.0L or the 6.2L now available. We obtained about 19mpg highway which is mostly the miles put on this vehicle. It was purchased in 2005 for $20500 with 70,000 miles. (I personally think she over paid, however this was a time where SUVs were at there prime). It also had an autoride air suspension that gave it a very comfortable ride. The Escalade is built on a popular Tahoe Platform, which is also another great SUV. The first week my sister had an issue with the sunroof seal and sunroof properly sealing. It was remedied by the dealer, but was told that the cost to repair was astronomical. Also, other than oil changes and regular maintence it was been virtually trouble free. Our family loved this vehicle, and she put a lot of highway miles on it traveling. It did have a very expensive ABS module go out, that was going to cost $1200 to repair, at this point, she decided to trade for a quad cab 2008 Chevrolet Silverado (but she complains about missing the Escalade quite often!) It had 144k when it was traded in. And even after 7 years, it still got looks everywhere it went!
