In Walt Disney Pictures' feature BROTHER BEAR, beautiful animation of the Pacific Northwest complements an upbeat musical score that includes songs by Phil Collins and Tina Turner. From snowcapped mountains and glaciers to lush springtime forest scenes, the colorful drawings are dazzling and dreamlike. Children will especially enjoy the animals in the film. There are rivers full of leaping salmon, forests inhabited by squirrels and chipmunks, and processions of giant wooly mammoths. The story carries messages about the power of friendship and community, the difficulty of losing a loved one, and the highs and lows of growing up. Kenai (Joaquin Phoenix) is a boy who longs to become a man but must learn a valuable lesson before he can achieve the maturity it requires. At a tribal ceremony the spirits give him the symbol of the bear, which stands for love. Then, through a series of events, he is transformed into a bear. A Man Learns From the Spirits in Brother Bear
Pros: Animation. Rutt and Tuke. Phil Collins songs. Cons: A few things could be upsetting to younger children. Bottom Line: Another Disney Classic
Pros: Lovely well written story of love and loyalty Cons: None Bottom Line: Emotionally breathtaking
Pros: wonderfully crafted, with a strong plot and endearing characters. Cons: tries to imitate The Lion King's intensity and Pocahontas' message Bottom Line: How's it goin', eh?
Pros: Phil Collins music, Rutt and Tuke Cons: Tina Turner's version of "Great Spirits", animation was okay (a lot of red and brown!) Bottom Line: He had become a man, by becoming a bear.
Pros: One of the best disney movies I have seen. Cons: That I didn't tell the rest of the story! :) Bottom Line: It's A Beauty Eh!
Pros: An uplifting, memorable and engaging movie... Even if you're 20. Cons: It's embarrassing for adults to admit they cried in it. Bottom Line: If I had 10 hands, I would be giving 10 thumbs up as this movie is heartwarming, hilarious, has beautiful images and leaves you with the desire to be good. A Great Lesson for Children to learn!
Pros: Wonderful animations, great lessons in life for children, Heart grabbing, and a delight to see. Cons: Some Spots reminded me of other Disney films. Bottom Line: Wonderful Movie!
