Brother MFC-3240C
Author's Review
Brother Multi-Function printers go on sale quite frequently at office supply stores, particularly around the thanksgiving every year. On these occations, this printer could be had for $30 after rebates.
I think that is a very good price for a full featured inkjet multi-function printer.
The compatible (non-Brother) ink cartridges could be bought for around $2-$3 each from internet vendors (for a 20ml cartridge) compared to $15-$16 for smaller capacity HP cartridges (for HP printers). These are a bit cheaper than the after market Canon or Epson cartridges, inspite of being higher capacity.
So, if you don't want to be robbed by HP and Lexmark for the replacement cartridges, I think Brother (or some of the Epson or Canon) printers are the better idea.
The driver / control panel seems to be pretty good too.
Print Speed / Quality is comparable to low-end printers from the other companies.
Had some difficulty sharing it on the network.
Very Inexpensive to operate if using after market ink

Pros: Low operating cost.
Cons: Not a flat-bed scanner.
