Best bluetooth headset yet

Author's Rating: Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: One handed design, great sound, great battery.

Cons: Sensitive to wind noise, no mute button. No iGO tip.

The Bottom Line:
Don't buy anything else. You will just buy this one later

Author's Review
I bought my first BT200 (the parent to the 250) in December 2003. I lucked out because it has been the best purchase for a headset. The design is extraordinary, and I really don't understand why more companies aren't copying it. You can slide it on with one hand. Changing from left to right ear can be done without removing any parts like the Motorola H500. The battery life out lives my phone. I've gone almost 2 days without a charge. The in-ear bud design makes it possible to hear more clearly in loud situations. I have compared this performance to both the Motorola H500 (which is awful) and the Plantronics Discovery (which isn't bad honestly). Comfort. Good. I wore it once for 6 hours. No problems. I fell asleep with on several times. No problems; it didn't even fall off. That's the great part.
To be balanced, there are some negatives. I had to buy a new one with the bluetooth standard upgraded. That's when I went from a BT200 to BT250. I got the 250 in August 2004. I still have it, but I think the battery life is finally starting to wear out. It needs to be charged every night now. In January 2005 a friend borrowed my phone, put the headset in his back pocket and sat on it! He cracked it. I still use it to this day. I can see the wires inside, but the performance is unchanged. Afterward he bought himself the same headset and cracked that one too. I think it might be just him. I headset has one major flax which is wind. It amplifies are wind sounds and few high pitched squeals to point that the other person on the phone begins yelling at me and hangs up! The only headset I have used with better performance in this area is the Plantronics Discovery, but I returned that one because for normal use it wasn't really that great. I can't wait to see what the latest changes are from the next generation already on the market: BT500. I do hope they include mute button! It wouldn't either if it could charge with USB or a battery or my phone charger or if iGO made a tip for the darn thing.
