Britax Chaperone
I ordered this carseat online because of Britax's reputation as one of the safest carseat manufacturers in the industry. I liked that it had side impact support and was safe for up to 30lbs.
Installation
This seat comes with a base that attaches to the car via seatbelt, and the seat itself is a carrier that clicks into the base. My husband installed the base into car in about fifteen minutes and said it was not difficult. One issue that we noticed right away is the size of the base itself. We had originally decided to put the carseat behind the passenger seat to make it easier to take the baby in and out. The base was too big for this unless the passenger seat was pulled all the way forward. (And we drive a Ford Expedition!) I have since read that babies should be in the middle backseat anyway, but if you have two children, there is almost no way this could go directly behind either the driver or passenger seat.
Ease of Use/ Versatility
Carseat carriers like this are very popular these days, but I'm not sure why. It is nice to be able to snap the baby into a stroller, but I find unsnapping this seat to be so difficult I would rather just unhook the baby and either carry her or put her directly into a stroller. To disengage the seat from the base, you pull a handle in the back and simultaneously lift up, which I found surprisingly difficult, especially when the seat is in the middle of the car.
This seat is too big to fit in either a shopping cart or on an upside-down high char (which many restaurants use as carseat holders). Something to consider if you plan on going on outings with your baby.
It does come with a very generous sun canopy, which is very nice.
I also found it easy to adjust the tightness of the straps and the height of the head support.
In Summary:
Like the Britax B-Ready stroller, this is a large, expensive, nice item. If you are looking for a very safe carseat and have a large vehicle, it might be right for you. But if you are looking for a carseat that will be a convenient carrier and a functional part of a travel system, look for something lighter and smaller.
Britax Chaperone: Big, Safe, Expensive, Heavy

Pros: Safe, easy to install, nice canopy
Cons: Heavy, large, won't fit in most cars
The Bottom Line:
Great for safety, bad for convenience.
