I've used disposable razors my entire adult life (mid 30's)and never believed that an electric shaver could give you an as close shave as a blade. I read reviews everywhere, got feedback from electric shaver users, etc. for years. And, most of the feedback I received proved my theory correct. The electric shavers just did not provide a shave as close as a blade. Well, that was until I started reading reviews on the 7680 and receiving very good feedback from users. Needless to say, I purchased one and just used it for the first time yesterday.

Results: (keep in mind that I'm a first time electric shaver user and that there is an acclimation period of approx. 2-3 weeks)

My first shave was truly a pleasant surprise. The shave was extremely close with no cuts or skin irritation, even though I have very sensitive skin. The manual tells you to stretch your skin when shaving and this proved to be a very effective tip. This provided a shave that was as close if not closer then you would get with a blade because of the technique used.

I'm a perfectionist when it comes to shaving. The things that are of most importance to me are a very close & clean shave with no skin irritation or cuts, baby smooth skin and a quick shave to save time. The 7680 meet all my needs with the exception of time.

My first shave took longer then expected, 15 minutes. Specifically because I had to go over certain areas of my neck a few times to ensure it was clean shaven. However, I'm a beginner and I'm sure as time moves forward I will become more efficient thus reducing the time spent shaving. Furthermore, my skin will become accustomed to the shaver and vice versa and the scar tissue I had in specific areas because of the blades I used will no longer be an issue for the 7680. The scar tissue made it difficult for me to shave an area or two on my neck. In other difficult areas like underneath my nose and jaw, the unit worked flawlessly. When I was done shaving, every area was clean shaven and smooth like a baby's butt. Unbelievable. I'm just very pleased to know that finally there is an electric shaver out there that can do the job right. Kudos to Braun. :)

The cleaning unit is convenient and efficient. The cleaning solution needs to be replaced monthly if used everyday. The price is approx. $10.00 for a 2 pack as mentioned in a previous review. Keep in mind, the 7680 can be cleaned manually after every use eliminating the need to use the cleaning solution or unit.

Features:

The Smart Logic inside your shaver automatically monitors the condition of the batteries as well as the charging/discharging processes and adapts them to your personal shaving patterns. The additional features like the led display that provides helpful info, pilot light, info key and the shaver case, etc. are all needed and pleasant to have.

FYI. If the battery needs charging prior to shaving and time is of essence, the shaver can be used with the power supply cord.

Overall - I'm ecstatic. I can shave quicker then when using a blade (15 minutes now, but I'm a Rookie), I get a clean shaven face as smooth as a baby's butt with no cuts or skin irritation, and the shaver cleans itself. Life has just become that much better. :)

I will provide more info as I continue to use the 7680 if I experience any difficulty or if I have more positive info to provide.
