Few blenders perform as well when it comes to power for making smoothies. The price is great. Hopefully Braun will redesign the defective part!

I had done quite a bit of research before buying my Braun Power Max about a month ago. I guess I should have listened to all the feedback I saw from consumers on line. Consumer Reports was absolutely right when they said that the blender had great power, was perfect for smoothies and was priced well.While this product is ranked a best buy by Consumer Reports there is a problem. I have been very happy with the blenders performance for making smoothies. It always blends with ease and crushes ice without effort. The problem is after only using the blender for a month the little teeth on the bottom of the blade (the ones that hold the pitcher onto the motor) break off. I saw reports of this happening to other consumers as well but given how good the reviews were on power I went ahead and purchased one hoping that Braun would redesign this part. I called them this morning and they are going to ship me the new part free of cost. The lady said they have been having complaints with this part. I asked if I could get more than one at a time as it looked like this could happen often given the cheap plastic used in the part in question. Unfortunately, I will have to call in each time the part breaks and wait the 2 weeks for the new part. There is only a 1 year warranty so I guess I am out of luck after that. I am holding out hope that Braun comes up with a better replacement part...because this little part does the rest of the blender an injustice...Great power and then poof....no teeth...no smoothies...
