Boggle CD-ROM is a faithfully computerized and expanded version of the board (cube?) game, enhanced with new variations on the basic theme of spelling words from a random assortment of cubes with different letters on each face and expanded to allow multiple players to battle each other across networks. Boggle 101: You and one or more of your literate friends stare at a 4x4 or 5x5 matrix of letter cubes. You all spend the next two minutes ferreting out and writing down what long and hopefully hard-to-find words can be spelled legally from the letters in the grid. To spell a word legally, you must by able to place a mental finger on its first letter and move your finger through the grid, traversing the letters that make up the word in order, and always moving from one letter to another that is adjacent to it, either vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. After a couple of minutes of spelling words, all players stop and compare their lists, crossing out any words that appear on more than one p

O.K. I'm only going to put in this cd and play for fifteen minutes. You look up at the clock and three hours have past. Well just one more game. I know that if I concentrate I can use all of the letters. Twenty games later your spouse leads you from the computer. Your eyes are glazed over and you are mumbling just one more game.
You have made contact with Boggle. Boggle has been a long time board game that is now on cd. This game has jumped from one game to five.
Classic Boggle is like the board game but with more options. You can play by yourself or with three other people. You can also play against the computer. The computer has different levels of its competition. Easy all the way up to Mr. Boggle. Mr. boggle makes words that are very long and you would never think of. Mr. boggle always wins.
The next game of choice is Breakaway Boggle. The game is in cube shape and when you form a word, that word breaks away from the cube. This leaves you with the rest of the letters. You can rotate the cube in any direction that you want.
Battle Boggle is one I have not played yet. You need a live opponent for this one. But it is like classic Boggle but you both play off of the same grid.
Space Boggle is medium fast. This I can keep up with. The blocks float to you from space. You click on blocks to form words. Beware don't do like I do and click on two letters thinking that the next one you want will appear before the others float off of the screen. The game seems to know what you want and won't give it to you.
In Your Face Boggle is the most nerve racking game of them all. The letters are layered and as you pick letters the cube of blocks get closer and closer to you. If you don't like things such as people or fingers in your face, then you will shy away from this game. But if you have a knock this block off my shoulder attitude then you will like it. It depends on which of my alter egos has possession of my body if I play this game or not.
You can turn the timer off in any of these games and adjust the playing time also. There are many background tunes that you can choose from. I swear John Tesch is playing his piano on one.
You can play Classic Boggle with out inserting the cd but all the others require the cd to play.
