Among fishing games, this one's sunk

Pros: Cheap! It only cost me three dollars to buy...
Cons: ...And an hour of my life to play it, which I'll never get back.
The Bottom Line:
If you're severly jonesin' for a portable fishing experience, and want to indulge in Tiger Handheld style graphical glory, look no further. Otherwise, I'd suggest you stay away.
I bought this game on a whim last week at my local EB. It was used and only three bucks, so I figured, why not? I'm a fan of fishing games, I have several for the original Playstation, the PS2, and the Dreamcast. I'd had yet to try a gameboy fishing game, so I figured I'd start small. I took it home, popped it into the gameboy, and gave it a go. First of all, the graphics really don't take advantage of the gameboy color's pallette, and seem to be stuck in 1992. Secondly, the music is just annoying. I don't know about you, but I don't hear poorly digitized pieces of classical music while I'm fishing. And the fish! When you see them (not too often) they appear as lurking shadows on your screen, and occasionally, you'll be able to hook one. I have yet to reel one in, even though the game gives no indication of why. The line tension is correct, I'm reeling not too fast, not too slow, and suddenly the fish swims off. I may try the game again in a few weeks, but until then, I'll miss the empty spot in my wallet where my three dollars once was.
