I recently bought a used version of this humidifier over Ebay because my skin and lips have been very dry over the winter and my dermatologist suggested buying a humidifier. So, I purchased it used for $20, which wasn't a bad deal.

Ease of use:
The humidifier was good and very easy to use. You just fill it up, plug it in and press the button in the front to turn it on. It lasts for about eight hours and shuts off automatically. The mist is warm, so it won't burn at the touch so safe for children and animals. The first night it did leak on my dresser so I wouldn't advise putting it on nice wood.

Does it work:
It generally helped with my breathing and dry skin and lips. I didn't notice a drastic change though, but then I wasn't sure what to expect.

Noise:
The noise was very low and sometimes you would hear a gurgle or drip. Nothing that would keep me awake in the night.

Cleaning:
This is the major down point. If you don't keep after it every day it will accumulate crystallization. At first I was unsure how to open the unit entirely. I cleaned it the best I could without having to take the whole thing apart, but one day I finally figured it out due to lack of manual, and I was so GROSSED out! The previous owner might not have cleaned it well, but the heating coil was eroded and the crystallization turned to brown sludge. This is very dangerous because it can induce asthma from mold. It might have been my fault, but I was just appalled. So, plan to keep up on the cleaning!
