No Mocha Chip for Me

Author's Rating: Rating: 2/5 stars

Pros: Nutritionally sound.

Cons: Poor taste, low fiber.

The Bottom Line:
Don't waste your calories on a bar that doesn't taste as good as it could.

Author's Review
It's been a week or so since I've reviewed a nutrition bar. There's a reason for that. I've begun to limit myself to two a week and had a streak of unpleasant bars that made me think I may not review them for awhile, if anymore.

One of my complaints is that the chocolate on many of these bars tastes terrible. And this particular bar, the Balance Mocha Chip bar is no exception.

Balance Mocha Chip

Other information on the wrapper includes that the bars is low on the glycemic index, is 40/30/30 nutrition and allergy information that it is manufactured on equipment that processes peanuts, tree nuts, sesame seeds, eggs and wheat.

What about the taste?

The insides of this bar has an okay mocha flavor - chocolaty with a touch of coffee. It's the outside chocolate coating that tastes strange and diety.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd rate this bar a 3. It's just not worth spending money on bars that don't taste good. Skip it.
