Pros: Fantastic sporting drive with outstanding economy.
Cons: A harsher ride than I'm used to, but then what cornering!
I changed to the 1 series from my 320 DSE. At first I thought it didn't feel like a BMW, but I soon changed my mind. After a few thousand miles it made my last 3 series feel positively agricultural.
I bought it after reading Andrew Frankel's review in the Driving section of the Sunday Times.I love it's Jekyll and Hyde personality: effortless motorway cruising but wicked acceleration and handling when you feel in need of some proper motoring.
I hate the runflat tyre system as you have to drive on the punctured tyre until you get home. Then it cost me £220 for a new tyre as the punctured one had been trashed by driving on it. Even worse, I had to wait three days to get a new tyre as no UK dealer could provide me with one! And sometimes the computer tells me I have a puncture when I haven't, grr!
