The 2003 BMW Z4 Roadster is a regular, everyday driving car that can be used a commuter or a handy weekend cruiser to get to the cottage or the golf course. However, it is also one of the most distinctive, capable and desirable cars on the market in the mid-luxury 2-seater sports car class. Choose between a couple of different and engines and, unlike last years very successful Z3, forget about the Coupe model. There isnt one. Instead pick either the manual or power soft-top convertible.

Lightyears Ahead of Z3, But Perhaps A Sacrifice in the Fun Factor...
Pros: Uncommonly stable, extremely refined and a marked improvement over Z3 in many ways Cons: Maybe too refined for a roadster- drive by wire vagueness, styling points... Bottom Line: Z4 2.5 - after 5 months of ownership
Pros: Handling, brakes, killer discounts (7.5K under MSRP when I got mine). Cons: Revs too high in 5th gear at freeway speeds Bottom Line: 2003 BMW Z4 3.0i
Pros: Killer looks, great engine, awesome handing, solid chassis, awesome stereo Cons: Need more storage, better lateral seat support, no spare tire Bottom Line: Manly version of Z3
Pros: Great handling, pick-up and power, lots of room Cons: Seats feel a bit cheap, options are expensive Bottom Line: Z4OOOOOM!
Pros: Performance, Looks, nice interior Cons: Only uses "Super" level gas. Seats not comfortable for long trips. Could use more gadgets Bottom Line: Lots of Fun, Some Minor Issues
Pros: Looks, DSC, handling, auto top, FUN!!! Cons: A little pricey, a tad delicate, expensive options Bottom Line: BMW Z4 -- Best $38,000 I've Spent Including Purchase of First House
Pros: Styling, seamless and intelligent engine/tranny mating (wife needed the automatic), point-and-go steering, one-hand top operation Cons: color choices, no wheel options Bottom Line: Driving Silk
Pros: Phenomenal handling, elegant lines and interior appointments. Cons: Limited color choice. Bottom Line: Z4 The AMERICAN Car in Germany
Pros: It´s Bad, It´s Fast and it MAKES you SMILE! Cons: A few sharp edges too many, but at 250Kmh on the Autobahn? Who Cares! Bottom Line: Woo Baby Speed
Pros: Great Power, Handles like a baby. Cons: Shifts like a semi tractor, what the heck Bottom Line: |
