The 2003 BMW M-Series is the BMW performance line-up. Now, you may be saying that all BMW models are performance-oriented but the M-Series are the performance versions of the already sporty Beemer lines. The 2003 BMW M-Series is comprised of cars akin to those from the 3-Series and the 5-Series but these are on altogether different order of power, performance, quality and interior content.

Solid Vehicle that drives Wonderfully.

Pros: Driving experience unmatched - very tight. Fit and finish superb!
Cons: Not many. Slightly expensive, if you compare it to other domestic cars.
The Bottom Line:
Would highly recommend BMW if you love to drive. Wished we would have gotten a stick.
After being a loyal GM consumer for years, I broke down last year and bought my 1st foreign car. I must say, should have done it sooner. I bought my wife a used fully loaded 330i 4 door coupe (premium sound system and sports package).
We found a mint condition one with 14,000 miles (should have over 36k by this point) for $26,200 from a local wholesaler. The car is still under warranty until the end of 2006. The BMW dealer in Ft. Lauderdale is wonderful. Like night and day vs. my GMC dealer where my Yukon goes. Car handles like a dream. Steady power off the line but amazingly will continue to provide that power well over 100 mph. And unlike my other vehicle, I actually feel quite safe at higher speeds. Quite ride with very little outside noise. Steering is tight, and reacts to your every move. Most brands have taglines... but I understand why BMW focuses on driving experience because they deliver. The fit and finish in the car is superb.
Most of my friends argument vs. my wife's BMW is "yeah, but you pay for it." What I find ironic is a new SUV like my Yukon runs well over $40k now...
Only downside to the BMW.. it requires premium fuel vs. my Yukon which can get expensive. The cost per mile is not much different when you are paying $.20 more per gallon for 19-20mpg vs. my SUV which gets about 14mpg.
Overall, great car. We are very happy. We will likely buy BMW again in the future. Too bad they don't make a minivan.
