The BMW Z3 is available as a coupe or roadster in five versions. The Z3 roadster is equipped with either a 184-hp 2.5L six-cylinder engine or a 225-hp 3.0L six-cylinder engine. The Z3 coupe utilizes the 3.0L engine. Also standard with the 3.0L are larger brakes,17-inch alloy wheels, and high performance tires. The M Coupe and M Roadster offer higher performance with a 3.2L, 315-hp engine, dual exhaust, sport-calibrated suspension, and four-wheel ventilated disc brakes. All models are standard with a five-speed manual transmission. The 2.5L and 3.0L models are available with the following options: a Steptronic five-speed automatic transmission, and heated seats/mirrors. The Z3 Roadsters also offer a Sport Package and a Premium Package.

Fun, sporty, beautiful design

Pros: Drives great in city, sharp design.
Cons: Should've gotten the M3 version, the 6-cylinder is just not fast enough.

The Bottom Line:
It is mechanically sound.
Design is unique and beautiful. I have had problems with servicing my car at BMW service centers. Sending emails did'nt help the situation. I will keep my car just because it is so beautiful and I am hoping that the six times that I have taken my car to the dealership have not been a prelude to the future of owning my car(funny). I will buy another BMW and hope that the experience is better. My draw to this car is the design and the way it handles. It is not as fast as it should be, but I should've purchased the M3. I brought the car in for a new stereo the pulled the floor paneling to install the wires and did'nt put all the screws back and did'nt replace the paneling. When I went back they said that I will have to pay to have the paneling installed.
