The BMW Z3 is again available as a coupe or roadster. The roadster is available with either a 2.5L six-cylinder engine or the newly enlarged 3.0L six-cylinder engine. The coupe, however, is only available with the 3.0L engine. Along with the enlarged displacement comes an extra 32 horsepower and seven foot-pounds of torque. Also standard with the 3.0L are larger brakes,17-inch alloy wheels, and high performance tires. The M Coupe and Roadster offer the highest performance available within the Z3 line. Both M models are powered by a 3.2L, 240-hp in-line six. Additional performance upgrades on the M include dual chrome exhaust, sport-calibrated suspension, and four-wheel ventilated disc brakes.

Pros: Scary fast, aggressive styling, gearbox, massive engine and brakes.
Cons: Squirrelly rear suspension, people gawking, plastic rear window.
Bottom Line:
As the final evolution of the Z3, the S54-powered M Roadster fulfills its destiny with aplomb. It outhandles and accelerates cars twice its price.

Pros: The 0-60 times are astounding, yet controlled. Dialed-in handling, cool car all around
Cons: $$$$$, May be to small for average size or larger drivers.

Cons: Bad blind spot with the top up. Also, plastic window.

Cheaper since out of production. Invest in a window pad/cover and a good car cover. Check out z3solutions for great products as they do work as advertised
