Pros: Compact/Built-in web server/Night Vision very good
Cons: Tricky focus
The Bottom Line:
I'd recommend this to anyone needing low end security surveillance. Reasonably priced.
Purchased this 2100 unit to observe property around my home. I was impressed with the ease of setup into my existing LAN. I also purchased wireless Internet bridge so I wouldn't have to hard wire.
The daytime output quality is exactly what I needed as the placement of this camera doesn't need the PTZ feature that the Axis 2130 unit has (which I also own for another location).
The night vision capabilities are very good-a little grainy but it does the job.
I like the server feature when I can upload snapshots to my ISP for viewing on my own HTML slide show with its built-in FTP process. Great for me when I'm on the road and can view these. The live capabilities on my LAN are not as much of a drain as I feared as they do a good job of compressing without loss of quality video.
Focusing was a little touchy as the focusing ring isn't a fine tuner type, very loose.
One feature I'd wished they had incorporated was the action change where it can snap a picture when movement is noted this can be a % of change from normal viewing.
Overall I'm very pleased with the unit.
If properly housed this could be mounted outside, but does well viewing outdoors from within your building/home.
