This sub is large on eye-candy. I have mine mounted upside-down (so that the front of the sub faces into the box), so that all that flashy chrome doesn't go to waste. If you do this, since it reverses the push/pull pattern of the sub, remember to switch the positive and negative wires from the amp. (For example, the amp positive will go to the sub's negative terminal.)

But, make no mistake--a beast lurks behind the flames. This sub offers exceptional low-end bass, plus very respectable, meaty mid-bass for a 12-incher. It is a dual voice coil model, so you'll need either a 2-channel amp (one amp channel per voice coil), or a mono amp that can handle a 2-ohm impedance load. (You'll need to connect the subwoofer in "parallel" if you choose a mono amp.)
