Author's Review
Before having this car, i was stuck with two american "cars" that just loved to not work. A 1993 Ford Explorer sport, and a 1996 oldsmobile cutlass supreme. the explorer loved gulping that gas as well. so i gave up on them both and desperately searched for a reliable machine, and one that could perform in all types of conditions.

i automatically ruled out american, just because i didn't want to be stuck with another dead car in my driveway. i wanted something solid, refined, powerful and had all-wheel-drive. i looked at SUV'S(poor gas mileage and bad history with rollovers- ruled out) wagons(practically only subarus..and they were too boring, plus mainly only 4 cylinder), Mercedes-Benz C-Class(too executive, and poor selection of engine choices), BMW 330xi(this was my closest competitor to the ones i wanted/needed) and audi, for their well-known reputation with quattro. i searched and searched, finally found a 2002 passat GLX V6 4 motion at a car dealer for $20k, with 15k miles on it, had that for about a month, and found out i was to have major problems( entire electrical system)due to a previous accident that i had not known about. i was very angry and threatened to sue the car dealer. after much unneeded stress and frustration, i finally returned it a month later, and that very same day, i went over to the Volkswagen-Audi-Porsche dealer, and decided why not look around. The second i laid eyes on it, i had to have it. lo and behold it was in my price range! A 2001 Audi A6 2.7T Quattro with Xenon Headlights, Cold weather Package, Solar Sunroof, and Bose Stereo System, with a sticker price of $48k, (i eventually bought it after much consideration, a whole 6 hours, for $21k, with 62k miles on it, with the certified warranty as well, which is added on to the original warranty. original warranty was 4 years, add the certified on, i had a total warranty of 6 years, with about 3 years left.)

i was very excited. initial test drive was spectacular. seats were firm and supportive, very nice seating position. i turned the car on, and drove off. the headlights were unlike any i've ever had, projector xenon headlights, which gives a brilliant beam of bluish white light onto the road. very cool. i headed towards the longest stretch of road, and tested acceleration. one word to describe it. "wow". The tiptronic Transmission is very fun to play around with, and comes in handy if you really need it for those long uphill climbs and using it for engine braking as well.i also experienced NO turbo lag. the 2 turbochargers, about 3/4ths the size of a normal turbo, are smaller, and spool up much faster than others. 2 of them no less. no wonder these are so popular.

brakes were excellent. stopped the car very quickly. plenty of room for everyone in this car. no need for complain in the backseat, even with the front seats all the way back. me being 6'2" i take all the room i can get, and in this car i actually need to pull the seat up a little bit. that doesn't usually happen on other cars with my height. trunk space is plenty. you could fit a ford focus in there. also, this car is absolutely gorgeous. it's almost every day i get a complement towards the look of this car. it really stands out, while not trying to either.

the other day i got to test the quattro. 6 inches of snow are no problem to this car. when the other vehicles in my development are covered in snow, attempting to get to work, i get in my car, and drive right off. they stare and get jealous. :p rounding turns in snow with the AWD is relatively no problem, just point the car where you want to go and it does just that, it goes.

after 4 months and 3,000 miles in this car, i feel i have picked the right choice for my driving needs, and i am happy to say i'm as happy as can be with this car! it's an absolute joy driving to work every day. i would DEFINITELY recommend this car.
