Almost too good

Author's Rating: Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: sleek, seamless, transparent, smooth, fast, beautiful display, solid

Cons: too pretty, and a bit pricey.

The Bottom Line:
If you want a stellar laptop and want or need Mac OS, this is one super machine.

I've owned my new 15.2 inch 1.33GHz powerbook for a bit over a month now. While I know it may be too soon to say, and yes, I'm knocking on any wood I can find here, so far, not a single hiccup or glitch. This machine is so transparent, the computer simply disappears so I can do my work. Isn't that what it's all about?

Crisp, colorful display (main reason I got the powerbook over the much less expensive iBook) Fast, very nice touch on the keyboard, sleek and elegant looking, impressive. I said it's almost too good since I'm too worried that I may put a dent or scratch in this Ferrari of a computer.

My only complaint is the DVD drive seems a bit noisy and I don't like how it grabs a CD or DVD to suck it in, but that may be par for the course since I've never owned a modern laptop before this one. I do like how it doesn't have a CD tray like most Windows machine. Man, why do those windows machines need so many switches and buttons all over the place, anyway??

Bottom line: expensive but she's a beauty and I feel pretty dang puffed up every time I pull it out of it's (equally expensive!) Brenthaven backpack designed specially for powerbook.
