I Love My ibook

I have been a pc person for over 5 years now. But I was getting sick of dealing with the constant crashes, lock-ups and meltdowns that my pcs gave me. I wanted an Apple but I didn't want to replace one of my pcs at that time so I decided to get an ibook.

I went to the Apple website and found that it was easy to pick and customize my new computer. My ibook has a 60gb hard drive and 384mb ram instead of the standard 30gb hard drive and 256mb ram. I excitedly finished the process of ordering my ibook and waited anxiously.

A few days later, my ibook arrived at my door. It was love at first sight! The ibook is one nice looking notebook. I love the solid white case. I also love the fact that it comes complete with Ethernet, modem, firewire, and usb2. Everything is easy to get to and connect. The ibook also has a slot-loading combo (cdrw/dvd) drive. This is also nice because I don't have to worry about being careful not to break the cd tray. It also adds to the computer's sleek appearance.

I started up the computer up, answered a few questions, filled in a few blanks and the computer was ready to go. Network set up wasn't so easy at first and, until I got my emac and figured out the right settings, I had it set up so that it continuously asked if I wanted to stay connected. Once I got the network settings right, it worked like a dream.

I thought I would have trouble getting used to the different operating system but this computer is easy to use. The ibook is a fast, reliable computer. It doesn't lock-up, crash, or meltdown like my pcs do. It just runs, and runs, and runs without a single problem.

The Panther operating system is very intelligent and works exactly the way a good operating system should. I don't have to fight with it to make it do simple things. With my pcs, simple things could easily turn into a nightmare - especially when it came to connecting digital cameras. But with iphoto, I just connect the camera to the ibook and the computer does the rest. iphoto automatically comes up when the camera is connected and the program does everything for me -- not the other way around.

My pcs were also a nightmare when it comes to creating simple forms to use for my business. I know some people are just adept at creating forms with programs like Microsoft Office and Microsoft Works. But I always have a problem with those programs and I don't like having to fight a computer every inch of the way just to get something done. My ibook has Appleworks which, for me, is far easier to use than any of the Windows programs.

Even using a printer is easier with the ibook. I just connect the printer and the computer recognizes it and does the rest. I don't have to load software or anything just to get the printer to work.

In fact, I cannot think of anything that isn't faster and easier on the ibook. I truly love my ibook and I would highly recommend an ibook for anybody who is considering getting a notebook computer.
