Allure definitely is a guilty pleasure.
Because its content is so base, I'm almost embarrassed to buy it at the store, but each month I find myself furtively browsing the titles at the magazine rack, just hoping the new issue is out.
This magazine contains tons of information on beauty, fashion, trends and gossip on celebrities. It even has informative articles, I'm happy to report. But like those who read Playboy, I don't necessarily read Allure for the articles. The pictures and graphics are beautiful as well.
It's laid out in such a fashion that the reader is able to glance over it while in the doctor's waiting room, but yet she also can leisurely enjoy each feature during one one-hour sit-down. I often refer to it throughout the month as well, hoping I missed something and will be able to find something completely new.
Kevin Aucoin's makeup tips are awesome, as well as his behind the scenes information on all the stars he works with.
I would highly recommend this magazine to women ages 20-40. The only other women's mag I read is Glamour which isn't as much fun.
