ADVISE & CONSENT - Preminger's 11th, as 'Independent'. Senate Hearings De-Mystified?

Author's Rating: Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: Cast, Story, Performances. Enactments of Government morals and customs of a half-century ago

Cons: Presumption that the Senate could govern itself. The script suggests that it can.

Bottom Line:
Explains, in less than two hours, as much or more than some Civics Classes I have taken. Better than getting "The TV News Stations" to explain how government works. Read More at Epinions.com

Pros: Walter Pidgeon, Charles Laughton

Cons: Slow moving and a bit boring

Bottom Line:
Not as timeless as Preminger would have liked. The exposé of the inner workings of the government have been superseded by actual developments in Washington. Read More at Epinions.com

Bottom Line:
If you have to see all of Laughton or Fonda pix, see it, otherwise avoid. Read More at Epinions.com
