With its sleek, sporty styling, the new 2005 Acura TSX is highly contemporary, yet a timeless masterwork, designed to endure well into the future. Its 200-hp i-VTEC® engine accelerates smoothly in any gear and engine speed through either a close-ratio 6-speed manual or a 5-speed Sequential SportShift with Grade Logic Control automatic transmission. Its outstanding handling and agility is due partly to the engine's lightweight materials. There is also an abundance of luxury amenities and innovative safety features that add to this dynamic sports car's remarkable performance, craftsmanship and style.

Sedan with some sport!

Pros: Interior/exterior design, nice leather seating, leg room front and back. Honda quality/high resale value.
Cons: 93 octane fuel, "heavy" steering feel at low speeds, slightly underpowered.
The Bottom Line:
Great looking sedan - decent performance. Could be expensive to own in the longterm. Honda quality.
The TSX is a great looking car. The first week I owned it a 20-something year old stopped, stared and stated "That is a hot car!" and a worker in a McDonald's drive thru said "I want your car." I never had that reaction to a sedan before.
The exterior of the TSX is only the beginning. The interior design and layout is very upscale for the price. The leather is high quality and the color combination (silver accents on black) really show off this cars style. Nice storage areas add to the appeal.
On the road the TSX is a joy to drive. I wish it had a little more power and the power steering at low speeds feels a little heavy, but once you are above 40 mph, the car is a dream. This is a car designed for highway cruising.
On my daily 80 mile round-trip trek, the TSX feels safe and predictable. When it rains in Florida - IT RAINS! Despite the heaviest of down pours, the electronic stabilizer and traction control make the going sure-footed. I have never felt this thing even begin to hydroplane. With Florida's weather that says a lot.
On the downside, road noise is very loud for a "luxury" brand. Almost unacceptable. I attribute this to the low rise tires (one of which blew out only 30 days into ownership at a replacement cost of $230! Keep that in mind if you plan to buy the TSX!) Another unexpected cost are the xenon headlamps. They may look cool, but I understand each bulb is several hundred dollars to replace! Long term, this could be one expensive car to maintain.
I am currently averaging 26 mpg mixed city/highway driving. Unfortunately, the TSX requires premium fuel. Ouch.
All in all, I am very happy with my TSX. Sexy lines, great interior and great acceleration/handling once you are up to speed. A comparable Honda Accord (6 cyl) may be worth a look if the exterior style isn't that important to you.
