With its sleek, sporty styling, the new 2005 Acura TSX is highly contemporary, yet a timeless masterwork, designed to endure well into the future. Its 200-hp i-VTEC® engine accelerates smoothly in any gear and engine speed through either a close-ratio 6-speed manual or a 5-speed Sequential SportShift with Grade Logic Control automatic transmission. Its outstanding handling and agility is due partly to the engine's lightweight materials. There is also an abundance of luxury amenities and innovative safety features that add to this dynamic sports car's remarkable performance, craftsmanship and style. Minimize

Good investment

Author's Rating: Rating: 4/5 stars

Pros: Strong engine, wipers, whole interior-including powerful sound system, and definitely the bluetooth.

Cons: (1) rattles in the dash, and (2) not much low end pick up.

The Bottom Line:
Go for it if you have the money. It is very enjoyable and has all the bells and whistles.

This is one, nice solid sports sedan. The 2006 has upgraded many features from the 2005 model: more horsepower (actually 215 hp if compare apples to apples in the way hp is measured), dual power seats, and a little more cargo room. It's definitely not as fun to drive as the RSX. The RSX handles much better, as it's lighter and closer to the ground. The TSX does handle pretty good--you can take curves with acceleration, but it's just not as sporty. I would classify the TSX as professional and the RSX as truly sporty. The RSX gives you more thrill. The TSX gives you more features and a different profile, and its ride is much less harsh than the RSX.

The sound system is out of this world for the TSX. You will never get bored of things to listen to--radio, 6 CDs, XM radio.

The headlights are terrific. The Xe lights illuminate widefield.

The headroom is not much better than the RSX. I'm 6'4" and only have about 1/2".

There are many killer blind spots. You must continually adjust your body/head to see around them--notably the front side air curtain holders. The rearview mirror gets in your way too.

The TSX heats up quickly. Defrost and rear defrost are quick. Heated seats take about 4 minutes.

Gas mileage is poor. Got 24 mpg on my first tank. Though guess not too bad given weight of the car. Have yet to go on a long distance trip. Now, after owning it for 6 months, I'm getting a combined city/hwy of 30 mpg. Not bad! I use premium gas, which only costs an extra $2 or so when filling up compared to regular.

The interior atmosphere when driving at night is very serene. You feel very secure and comfortable. The bluelight adds much. You feel like you could drive for miles and miles.

The turning radius is horrible, just like on the RSX.

The front dash where the speedometer is is hard to read when the sun shines directly on it.

The acceleration is terrific. Much better than the notchy RSX. You will have no problem with on-ramp entrance. You can get around people very quickly.

The new wipers are like squeegys. Very nice.

Finally got the Motorola Razr, which has bluetooth technology. Now I can use the handsfree link in the TSX. It's wonderful! You can program your phone numbers by name, and simply call out the name (or number) while driving. Makes driving and calling much easier. Don't have to shout either to be heard.

I have fallen more in love with this car over time. It's beautiful to look at and wonderful to drive. Only drawbacks I've found are two: (1) rattles in the dash and (2)not much low end pick up. I had the pedal floored one time and a pickup truck almost beat me. Also, the engine can be a little jerky when just starting out at times (like the RSX).
