With its sleek, sporty styling, the new 2005 Acura TSX is highly contemporary, yet a timeless masterwork, designed to endure well into the future. Its 200-hp i-VTEC® engine accelerates smoothly in any gear and engine speed through either a close-ratio 6-speed manual or a 5-speed Sequential SportShift with Grade Logic Control automatic transmission. Its outstanding handling and agility is due partly to the engine's lightweight materials. There is also an abundance of luxury amenities and innovative safety features that add to this dynamic sports car's remarkable performance, craftsmanship and style. Minimize

A woman's review -- I've fallen in love with a car again!

Author's Rating: Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: Comfy seats, great stereo, fun to drive.

Cons: Flat trunk -- no side hooks or wells to hold grocery bags or small items.

The Bottom Line:
I'd recommend this car for anyone who is looking for a car to satisfy their desire for a fun car with all the bells and whistles.

Author's Review
This 56-year-old baby boomer reviewer just purchased a 2006 Acura TSX -- and after owning two Toyota Camrys (1993 and 2002), it was just the exciting shot in the arm that I needed! I haven't had this much fun with a car since my 1973 Super Beetle!
I researched many vehicles on the internet before test-driving the TSX -- incidentally, I also test-drove a 2006 Camry, along with an Avalon, before I checked out the TSX. The Toyota products were very nice, and comfortable, but I just didn't get the "rush" I got when I sat in the TSX.
The TSX had me hooked from the get-go -- the glove-soft leather seats with so many choices of adjustments had me comfortable within seconds of sitting down. Then, the stereo blew me away -- such AMAZING sound! Being a music lover, that was on the top of my list of important things in a car. The built-in XM radio was a huge plus, as that's something that was important to me.
And all of the standard features -- moonroof, cruise control, dual a/c temperature controls, floor mats, ABS, etc. -- were all included in the base price. I opted out of the only available option, the $2,000 navigation system, because I do mostly local driving, and Mapquest works just fine for me.
It's not a big car -- certainly a good bit smaller than my 2002 Camry -- but the size difference really doesn't bother me. I feel very comfortable and safe while driving and while inside the car.
It's a pleasure to drive -- it feels like it can turn, and stop, on a dime. The ride is tight, yet smooth, and it's quiet inside the car -- you don't have to crank up the stereo too loud to hear it unless you want to -- and I've done that lots of times, too!
And the Bluetooth connection -- wow -- once you get used to "Hands-Free" cell phone conversations while you're in the car, you'll never want to hold a cell phone while you're driving again. It's great to not have to search for your cell phone if it rings while you're driving -- and really neat to tell the Hands-Free to call whatever name or number you want, without having to punch buttons on a cell phone!
The Hands-Free option is turned on by pushing a button on the steering wheel -- the voice you select (male or female) guides you through whatever steps are needed for setup, and then to make calls. Incoming calls are announced by a ring or a voice. You control the volume of the call by the volume control on the stereo -- the stereo turns off while you're on the Hands-Free -- sound comes through the front speakers. It's amazing!
To wrap things up, if you're looking for a fun car to drive, seriously consider the TSX. This hasn't been a "scientific" review, I know, but I'm writing for those of us in the Boomer Bracket who are looking for a car that won't bust the budget and will bring back the enjoyment of driving!
