There was no blueprint when the Acura MDX was dreamt up. No past to contend with. Just an idea -- the one the other SUVs had tiptoed around. The handling of a performance, luxury car, and the freedom and common sense of an SUV. Taking note, our engineers applied breakthrough technology to create the unthinkable. The luxurious, quick-handling, all-weather MDX. In 2004, the Acura MDX delivers additional horsepower, more torque and a host of refined features. Like new projector-style headlights and dual exhaust on the exterior. And inside, standard side-curtain air bags, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, a power-adjustable lumbar support, new Bose® tweeters and 40% more room in the second row slide.

Pros: Good maneuverability, comfortable for petite as well as larger drivers, plenty of room, reliable
Cons: None
The Bottom Line:
Buy it - a reliable car that holds its value
I buy a new car only every 8 or so years - and I research them to death before buying. Am I ever so glad I bought the MDX. It is one solid car with great maneuverability - I once dodged a large cardboard box (who knows what was in it) when I was practically on top of it (I changed lanes, and lo and behold, there it was). I've only driven it about 21,000 miles, but I haven't had one thing go wrong with it.
We bought the package one step below (without the backup camera and navigation system). I'm petite (just over 5 feet) and this was the largest car I've ever driven, with the exception of some rentals. I was a little anxious at first about driving it, but grew accustomed to it quickly and can back it up and parallel park, no problem. The steering it nice and tight, and I can adjust the seat to fit me - something I always seem to find with the Toyota and Honda brands. It's also comfortable for my husband, who is 5'11". I love the Michelin tires that came with this package too.
There is plenty of room. I drive it with the backseat/3rd row down, so I have room for packages or our black lab mix - or my double stroller and a single stroller. There is room in the second seat as well. We have two car seats installed. One of them is the Regent - the largest seat Britax makes. Speaking of kids, I'm glad we have the side curtain air bags, which is one of the reasons I bought this car.
The paint has held up well. My husband is a fanatic about washing and waxing, and is always impressed with the finish on Honda and Toyota cars. I finally convinced him to buy one of his own.
I'm planning to own this car for a long time. It has been a great investment.
