The Bottom Line:
Anyone looking for a large tv and who doesn't want to spend a lot of cash on a flat screen LCD. Very crisp/clear I get comments on it alot.
I personally have never had a problem with the Hitachi 57F510. Great picture and this is without ever hooking up an HD receiver. I finally broke down and ordered the new HD DVR from Directv TODAY (they've come down $100) and they'll be installing this and a new dish outside. I also ordered their HD package. This TV is HD ready, you just need to purchase an HD Receiver for it in order to view things in HD. This has been a great tv, I have a surround sound hooked up as well. It was well worth the money, just about $1600 I paid for it at CC in Las Vegas.
It was very easy to take off the truck when we got home which is just about 2 hours away and in very WINDY conditions! 2 females we were able to lift it off with no problems, remove the box and roll it "easily" into the house where I then hooked up all of our current accessories (surround sound, dtv receiver, dvd/cd player) Turned it on and ran some tests and setups and wallah, PICTURE PERFECT.
We've now had this set for over 2 1/2 years and the picture is the same as it was the day we first turned it on. Just like with any purchase you could always get the lemon of the bunch and from what I've read here their service isn't the greatest but I cannot comment on that because we've never (knock on wood) had to call them for any service for this set or the one we had prior to this one (had that for 6 years).
