At least test drive this car, and for fun, do so AFTER test driving a Lexus. I did. You will be shocked that the Sonata will be just as nice!
I have had my Hyundai Sonata for three months now, and it is, without a doubt, the best car I have ever owned. I was a confirmed Toyota and Mazda owner, and this car is much better than any of the cars from those companies---and I LOVED my Toyotas and Mazdas! This car is solid, rides like my friend's Lexus, and is as luxurious inside and out. The new 2006 is much larger than the previous Sonatas, but gets great gas mileage---about 24 in the city and about 30 on the highway--- with a powerful 6 cylinder engine. I am not sure how they do that. It is very quiet, handles beautifully, has a fun automatic with a manual-like shift option. It is extremely roomy inside, and have taken four adults on a long trip and everyone loved it. Really, I have zero complaints. Oh, the dealer has free car washes every week, and there IS that 100,000 mile warranty. Really, you would be foolish to not at least test drive the 2006 Sonata if you are considering a Toyota Camry or Honda, but seriously, if you are also considering an Acura or Lexus (and can handle the snob issue!), for fun afterwards test drive a Sonata and see what you can get for 20-30K less!! I LOVE it!
