2006 BMW 1 Series

After much hemming and hawing and keeping a close eye on the competition, BMW has decided that it will, after all, bring its 1 Series to the American market. The 1 Series is scheduled to appear in 2006 as a rear-wheel-drive, two-door notchback. The body, interior and chassis will be quite similar to the European 1 Series which was launched this year. It's expected that the U.S. version of this vehicle will be powered by a 2.5-liter inline six, which produces roughly 218 horsepower. A diesel version could appear as well. Minimize
