Dependable and Stylish ('05 Coupe EX)

Author's Rating: Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: reliable, stylish, and affordable

Cons: none

The Bottom Line:
The Honda Civic is known for its reliability and affordability. In addition, the EX Coupe is an option that offers more power and style that will turn heads.

Author's Review
I debated between the Scion Tc, the VW Jetta, and the Honda Civic, and ultimately chose the Civic Coupe EX due to its well established reliability and quality. I had owned a '97 Civic before (100,000+ miles), and never experienced any problems. My Civic is an automatic silver EX Coupe with side impact airbags. The EX coupe is a surprisingly stylish option in the Civic line. The lines are aggressive yet not flashy, giving it an overall classy feel. The EX trim level is a must; the standard alloy rims give a much smoother ride, and the upgraded V-tech engine bumps the horsepower up to 127, which feels surprisingly powerful on the road. The interior spacing is generous, with a very stylish front dashboard and dials. The ride is also surprisingly quiet, the only major noises coming from bumps in the road. To add icing on the cake, the price is hard to beat given the quality, style and features. Even at the EX trim level (the highest available on the Civic), I got mine for $16,900, easily cheaper than its major competitors at similar trim levels. I would recommend getting several quotes online from a website first and using the email quotes you receive as bargaining tools.
