Civic Hybrid Rocks!

Pros: Extremely efficient. Quiet very sturdily built. Important level indicators well positioned. Very comfortable long trips.
Cons: Horsepower in mountains is less than desireable. Small size. Very Low- issues on gravel roads.
The Bottom Line:
This car has lived up to everything I expected and I would buy another in a minute.
This is a typical well built Honda machine. I purchased the Hybrid ULEV 5 speed model in Early September. Good timing -right?! Well, in just over 6,000 miles I am averaging an astonishing 49.2 miles/gallon!! I live in a rural area of Montana where a real grocery store is 60 miles away. So Highway mileage was important to me. Very streamlined design.
Closing the doors still astonishes me as the sound reflects the quality. i recently drove 3200 miles on a round trip journey to and from Missouri. Averaged 48.4 mpg on this trip. Stopped at Honda dealer while on the road to have service preformed and was treated very well and quickly. This was a huge plus. I found the seats very comfortable and design fine for long distance, even after on 1100 mile day.
The Honda hybrids generate power in a different manner than the Toyota models giving better mileage on highways than in town. I have noticed I am much more aware of trying to get the VERY best mileage instead of hardly paying attention to many factors in an automatic. Watching the little bar across the bottom of the speedometer is addictive when you are getting 60 miles/gallon or better! Braking or descending hills charges the battery assist systems. I am thrilled to be helping the gasoline oil crisis and must be obnoxious to some as I brag about what great mileage I am getting and how much money I am saving. But people everywhere seem genuinely interested.
The stereo was not the top of the line like in an Accord but it is still very sweet! XM radio was not installed but I bought a Roady 2 for the trips and it functioned very well with the existing system. CD sound is also Great!
I am very happy with my purchase, I did not have to wait or pay more than sticker. I highly recommend this car.
