great engine; service is not Lexus

Author's Rating: Rating: 2/5 stars

Pros: Excellent engine and four wheel system

Cons: numerous interior rattles; inferior service from local dealership and headquarters

Handling And Control: 4

The Bottom Line:
For near $40K, add the difference and get the BMW (the ultimate SUV) or the Lexus (a minivan but amazing service)

Author's Review
I have had this SUV for three months and it has been in the shop 5 times for numerous rattles. The engine is great and its body seems solid but the interior finishing is another thing. I have had several interior parts replaced with a couple of replacement still to come (awaiting parts). This is unacceptable for a near $40K SUV. When I told Infiniti headquarters about my problems I was told that a dealership should fix the problems at the next schedules service. I was told, "unless the car is undriveable, an Infiniti dealership has no duty to fix a problem before a scheduled service."

I have a feeling Lexus would have dealt with this differently. I never heard by from Infiniti customer service or the dealership after my complaint. Infiniti did send me a "how do you rate our customer service" brochure a couple of weeks later though.

If you are planning to spend $38k for a loaded QX4, add the difference and get the BMW X5. You can also get the Lexus for around the same price. If need be, one can get a loaded pathfinder LE for less than $33K. In other words, skip the QX4 and Infiniti (Infiniti’s customers first claim is a sham).
